Nicole Kidman to Headline Thrilling Equestrian Mystery Series Based on Bestselling Novel
Nicole Kidman

Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman is set to dazzle audiences once again as she takes on both starring and executive producing roles in an exciting new television adaptation of Eliza Jane Brazier's gripping novel Girls and Their Horses. This marks another high-profile book-to-screen project for the talented actress following her successes with Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers.

The series, currently in development, will transport viewers to the picturesque yet deceptive world of Rancho Santa Fe, California. The story centers on the Parker family - newly wealthy outsiders whose daughters become entangled in the cutthroat equestrian competition scene where beauty masks danger and privilege hides dark secrets. What begins as a dream of blue ribbons and show jumping quickly spirals into a chilling murder mystery that threatens to unravel their perfect lives.

The prestigious production brings together entertainment powerhouses Legendary Television and Amazon MGM Studios for exclusive streaming on Prime Video. Jenna Lamia (The Good Lord Bird) has been tapped as showrunner and executive producer, promising to deliver Brazier's suspenseful narrative with cinematic flair.

"We're crafting something truly special that combines elite equestrian drama with psychological thrills," an insider revealed. "Nicole's involvement guarantees both star power and creative vision." While casting details remain tightly guarded, industry insiders anticipate A-list talent joining Kidman in this ensemble piece.

A Busy Slate for Hollywood Royalty

The announcement comes as Kidman prepares for multiple high-profile projects. Fans eagerly await her return alongside Sandra Bullock in the long-anticipated sequel to 1998's beloved supernatural romance Practical Magic. Scheduled for release September 18, 2026, the film reunites them as witch sisters Sally and Gillian Owens under Susanne Bier's direction.

"This sequel will explore deeper themes while maintaining that magical charm audiences loved," Bullock recently shared during a press event. The production team includes original producer Denise Di Novi working alongside Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind) who co-wrote the screenplay with Georgia Pritchett (Succession).

With these major projects underway plus rumored collaborations with prestige directors like Lulu Wang (The Farewell), Nicole Kidman continues cementing her status as one of Hollywood's most versatile leading ladies - equally compelling whether solving mysteries in riding boots or conjuring spells under moonlight.

Emma Bunton and Mel B 'reunited in South Korea'
Emma Bunton and Mel B reunited in November to take part in a reality TV show. The 49-year-old pop star and Mel secretly flew to Seoul, South Korea, in late 2024, when they sang alongside K-pop idols for a TV show. A source told The Sun newspaper: "A Spice Girls reunion is a way off. "So having Emma and Mel back on stage singing a Spice Girls song together might be the closest fans get to a comeback, even though it will be with K-pop stars rather than Geri Horner, Melanie C and Victoria Beckham. "They flew to South Korea at the end of last year and were on set for quite a few days as they battled it out with other pop veterans. "With them alone on board, it is a big show. But there’s also Boy George and loads of other chart-topping stars, which will be enough to encourage people to tune in." The reality show will air on Apple TV and will also feature the likes of Megan Thee Stallion and Psy, the 'Gangnam Style' singer. Meanwhile, Melanie recently revealed that she's ready to "start planning" a Spice Girls reunion. The 51-year-old singer would love to reunite with her bandmates to mark the 30th anniversary of 'Wannabe', the group's 1996 hit single. Melanie told Rebecca Judd On Apple Music 1: "There has to be something befitting of 30 years since ‘Wannabe’. "Once a Spice Girl, always a Spice Girl. We all feel like that, but we now are getting together because we know if we're going to do anything, we have to start planning things to get things right. "We have to start making the plans right now and putting them into action. So fingers crossed."
